Fencing in Des Moines

Volunteers and spectators are welcome to this event, which will include Olympic-level fencing. Admission is free to all events. Three Sisters has no other information on this event.

Almost 900 fencers, from across the United States and participating countries, will be competing in our city.

Come out and be a part of this exciting event. Attendance is free to all events. The action begins each day at 8:00am and continues until approximately 7:00pm

Volunteers are needed to make this world class tournament a success. No fencing experience is necessary.

For those interested in volunteering:

General volunteer duties include

* assisting U.S.Fencing representatives with athlete check-in
* monitoring the Official’s room assist with any requests for
information from the officials
* runners to assist with Bout Committee posting results, posting
strip assignments, and other items as needed
* evening shifts will support with nightly clean-up (includes
collecting weights, shims and stop watches, strip re-taping, table
trash pick-up and other areas as determined by USFA).
* help with each medal ceremony/announcing award

Armory / Venue Set-up volunteer duties

* 16 years of age or older physically capable of performing manual
tasks inclusive of lifting 40 pounds to assist with all aspects of
Venue set-up and tear down under the direction of U.S. Fencing
representatives.
* 16 years of age or older physically capable of performing manual
tasks inclusive of lifting 40 pounds to assist the Armory in the
maintenance of the fencing strips throughout each competition day.

    if you can make it, it’s very very cool to watch. we had the fam and nieces with us today. you’ll also be right next door to the iowa hall of pride.
