Bloom’s Taxonomy: We all want our kids to think higher and deeper. Learn to use educational principles from Bloom’s Taxonomy to ask better questions and design more creative assignments. Workshop participants are encouraged to bring a (text)book and put their new skills into practice in time for tomorrow’s lessons!

The Later Years: High school, college, and PSEO. As the teacher of her five children, Maureen explains options and logistics of teaching older children at home.
Home School Success. Based on her experience as a supervising teacher, district liaison, and home school mom, Maureen will give inspiring, real life examples of Home School Success.
Connected: How to find a home school support group. During this workshop, Sheryl will discuss the different levels of homeschool support and how to find the right fit for your family. Participants will receive information regarding the various forms of support available in the Central Iowa area as well as ideas about how to start your own support group. Her bio can be found here.
A day in the life. If you’ve decided on home education but aren’t sure about execution, attend this talk. Local mom Tamara will draw on her experience — the good stuff as well as the mistakes — of teaching three kids in what a ‘typical’ homeschool day might look like.

Taking the Mystery Out of Learning Styles. This informative workshop will show you how to use your students’ strengths to improve their weaknesses. Handiwork and Crafts for Academics. As a Waldorf eduation teacher in a traditional and home setting, local mom Kristie will give you great ideas to use immediately.
